Welcome

Message from the host

It is our great pleasure and honor to announce that we will organize the 3rd edition of the International Conference on LGBT+ Psychology and Related Fields at ISPA – Instituto Universitário, Lisboa Portugal, from the 22nd to the 25th of June, 2022!

After all the challenges that we all have faced during these last two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is time to once again get together to share our research, knowledge, activism, experiences, and good practices in LGBT+ research. This 3rd Conference will be the perfect opportunity to continue our joint efforts to affirm LGBT+ Psychology and Related Fields as viable and legitimate disciplines from a scientific standpoint, with a common and particular body of knowledge.

The Conference will feature invited addresses by Charlotte Patterson (University of Virginia, USA), David Frost (University College London, UK), and Carla Moleiro (ISCTE-IUL, PT) and other eminent scholars who have significantly advanced the field of LGBT+ research, and we are working hard to put together a program as rich and diverse as the LGBT+ community.

We maintain our commitment to the following objectives:

- To affirm LGBT+ Psychology has a viable and legitimate discipline from a scientific standpoint with a particular body ok knowledge;

- To facilitate the exchange of knowledge, research, and experiences of professionals and academics involved in any activity related to the LGBT+ field, with particular emphasis on LGBT+ Psychology;

- To contribute to the development of adequate social responses to priority areas of intervention as defined by governments and social organizations in the field of sexual and gender minorities;

- To promote, defend, and disseminate models and good practices in LGBT+ Psychology.

We hope to see you all soon in sunny Lisbon!

Pedro Alexandre Costa
